PETITIONS AND STATEWIDE PETITION GATHERING DAY
Petitions support the 1.35% Property Tax Cap Amendment
Miami – Tomorrow, Friday, January 18, 2008 at 11:30am, members of citizen-led
organizations Fair Property Tax for All and Floridians for Property Reform will be joined by Representatives Anitere
Flores, David Rivera and Julio Robaina to make an announcement about the number of petitions collected for the 1.35%
Property Tax Cap Amendment and to discuss plans for a Statewide Petition Gathering Day.
Grassroots groups throughout the state have been leading rigorous petition gathering efforts since late November 2007 to
collect the signatures needed to place the 1.35% Property Tax Cap Amendment on the November 2008 ballot. The amendment
proposes to limit the amount of taxes collected on all homestead, non-homestead and commercial properties to 1.35% of the
taxable value while maintaining all current exemptions such as Save Our Homes.
